Dear Colleague,
Today, the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) is pleased to announce new services and standards for teaching and proctoring ServSafe® Food Safety training and exams.
These improvements are designed to make it easier for you to do business with us, and to help safeguard the integrity of ServSafe certification. Your success means the public is better protected from the risk of foodborne illness.
The upgrades encompass three distinct categories:
- Service Improvements: Upgrades to the administration of ServSafe Food Safety courses and exams that will make it easier to work with the NRAEF and perform more efficiently. Many of these upgrades will be effective immediately.
- Instructor and Proctor Quality: A new set of procedures, requirements and standards that will help lead to a consistently superior educational and examination experience for all students. These will begin with new instructors and proctors in November 2007, and will effect incumbent instructors and proctors in 2008.
- Certification Integrity: New resources to help clarify policies and responsibilities regarding the security of the ServSafe Exam. These resources will help improve security, reduce cheating and make sure that the ServSafe Program is administered with the highest level of integrity. These upgrades will begin to take effect in August 2007.
You can learn more about these changes and improvements by clicking here. In addition, please note that in the near future the ServSafe Alcohol® Program and other NRAEF programs will be enhanced by the new services and standards instituted with the ServSafe Food Safety instructor and proctor program upgrades.
We are also pleased to announce our new Instructor Quality Department, headed by Terrence Donahue, Vice President of Instructor Quality. Based on feedback from instructors and proctors, this department was created to address your needs and to develop new resources. Some new resources coming this year include the “2-Minute Trainer,” “Instructor Idea of the Month,” and the “Performance Management System.” You will learn more about these and other exciting advancements soon.
Please click here to learn more about the upcoming upgrades and how these enhancements will benefit you, your students and our industry. We will keep you informed as these enhancements continue to roll out. Sincerely,
Mary M. Adolf President and Chief Operating Officer
